AIChE is a professional society of more than 60,000 chemical engineers in 110 countries. Its members work in corporations, universities and government, using their knowledge of chemical processes to develop safe and useful products for the benefit of society. Through its varied programs, AIChE continues to be a focal point for information exchange on the frontiers of chemical engineering research in such areas as energy, sustainability, biological and environmental engineering, nanotechnology, and chemical plant safety and security. The successful incumbent will support AIChE's efforts in workshop planning and facilitation and peer reviews. AIChE, a 501 c 3 professional membership society conducts workshops to address key industry needs in a variety of technology areas related to chemical and biological engineering; identification of gaps and barriers in implementation of technology, and identification of needed research to support the technology domains including chemical process development, biological engineering, bioprocessing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, process intensification, process development, materials research and nano-technology. A senior level chemical engineer with 3-plus years of relevant experience is sought. Prior workshop and roadmapping facilitation is a plus. The engineering associate will be provided the opportunity and training to become a Certified Professional Facilitator. Responsibilities Work with the facilitation department to provide program development and onsite facilitation of both virtual and in-person workshops for internal-AIChE and external clients Write workshop reports for clients and participants Work with marketing to create engaging roadmaps based on workshop outcomes Manage the startup of new AIChE communities; responsible for planning and facilitating roadmapping workshops to set the direction and focus for that community Work with the communications department to create new community web pages Work with the Technical Entities department to identify ways to incorporate facilitation into conference programs Assist in the research and development of new roadmapping projects on topics that are important to our members and the community 5-10% travel YourMembership.
